Vibrant Valley
Kluecover_118_large

Our August issue takes a look at an emerging street culture: the fixed gear movement. What's that, you ask? Well you've just gotta ask the KL Fixie crew for the 101, or read what Didi Ramlan discovered from the crew themselves. Also the Bangsar institution, Telawi Street Bistro, recently went through a re-launch and one of the big changes they made was the inclusion of the Star Lounge - read all about the other nip-tucks in our Pulse section. Also, we Hype the upcoming Short+Sweet Festival, Pesta Malam Indonesia and a cool competition for aspiring TV show creators (you get to win RM80,000 in the process!). Plus, we speak to Jacqueline Ann Surin about her new project, The Nut Graph, where politics and pop culture will come together for what we think will be essential reading. Since our theme this issue is The Vibrant Valley, our features rightfully reflect this. We searched high and low, asked friends and strangers, to recommend some of the most beautiful, coolest office spaces that they know. What made the feature is only a small sample of eye-catching workspaces. We're sure there are more out there so we're inviting everyone to submit photos of other cool offices that you may know! Continuing with our visual theme, we brought four photographers from KLickr (the KL Flickr Group) and Nike together for a photowalk unlike any other. Find out more about these four talented photographers and feast your eyes on the results of the shoot! And, we look back fondly at Urbanscapes - ahh, it seemed only a while ago we were frantically getting the fest together and now we're reminiscing already?! Thank God there are events like Impulse, Queens of Noize, After Ours and Ismail: The Musical to help us forget just how quickly time is passing. So until the next issue, Happy Merdeka!
