Following the recent success of Air Con, The Instant Cafe Theatre Company wastes no time in reaping critical acclaim to present Hero, a play by Arun Subramaniam. And apparently, expectations are riding high on this one too - after a reading of the play, Mano Maniam noted thatHero was a play ripe for plucking; a rare new kind of Malaysian play that just has to be staged.

This is described to be an edgy play with the focus on the troubled conversations the couples have post-coital. While the racy subject matter of sex on stage already ignites curiosity, it is merely a backdrop for the emotional issues of intimacy, vulnerability, heartache and confusion that every couple goes through.
