Hey, What's The Big Idea?
Posted on 01 August 2008 by sookmei
How does RM80,000 sound to you? Pretty good, considering it’s what you could be paid for your big TV idea.
Media Prima is kicking off the “What’s Your Big TV Idea?” competition this month under its TV production arm, Primeworks Studios (PWS). Based on originality, innovation and entertainment value; twenty finalists will be shortlisted to pitch to their ideas to PWS’s board of ‘Seriously Big Bosses’ (management and executives from all Media Prima network stations) and each will automatically receive RM3,000.
The one that gets the final nod from the ‘Big Bosses’ will pick up an extra RM20,000. Not only that, the winner gets an instant foot in the entertainment industry door. The winner’s idea will be further developed and will eventually go into production - his/her name will appear under ‘Based on the Original Idea by…’ during the credits of the programme. “What we want out of this competition is to get people to start thinking again! Good TV comes from good ideas and we're giving a platform for anyone to offer up their ideas for a chance to be heard and we'll acknowledge (credit) you for it,” says Marini Ramlan, Manager, Content Development, Primeworks Studios.
The closing date for submissions is 14 September. So hurry up and get your ideas heard by heading to www.bigidea.com.my for more information on how to enter.

Den, tak tahu kenapa you tak boleh buka website Big Idea sebab kita dapat buka website tu, no problem. Cuba lagi ya!
What are the more specific guidelines for TV bigideas competition? Ideas relating to show (time duration)? documentary? advertisement? & etc...? Maximum words? drawings?
Cynthia, all the requirements are on the website. As far as I know the entry is just a short paragraph to pitch your concept. If you're shortlisted to pitch the idea; that's when you have to work out the finer details to present to the "Big Bosses". www.bigidea.com.my
