Greenwood Cafe is tucked away in the hustle and bustle of SS2. Its decor is simple yet modern with dim orange lights with white chairs and wooden tables spaced out across the spotless premise. Though quiet, cosy and board games for entertainment, the crowd here is somewhat lacking. One reason might be how pricey the food here is. Specialising mainly in Western fare, the staff recommended the Grilled Pocket Steak with Stuffed Portobello Mushroom Served With French Fries and Coleslaw Greenwood Style (RM20.90). Drenched in a well-balanced black pepper sauce, the steak is delightfully tender and the mushrooms juicy to bits. The brilliant combination works. There's also an all-day Greenwood Big Breakfast (RM16) with a choice of how you want your eggs done. The only thing that is a winner is the juicy Portobello mushrooms. The baked beans have an odd sourish taste while the bacon and sausages are nothing fancy. For desserts, their Warm Chocolate Brownines (RM8) is worth a try. It's rather dry but the melting Vanilla ice-cream does wonders with the taste. The Peppermint Chocolate and Mango Cooler (both RM8.50) are total let-downs. One is too sweet and tasted artificial, while the other is too watered down. Greenwood even have conceptual days, like Corporate Days where you get 15% off ala-carte items from Monday to Thursday. Our hats off to the waiting staff for scoring high on attentiveness and patience.
