The George & Dragon

Review | Posted on 31 July 2008 by farhana

The George & Dragon is located in Bangsar Shopping Centre, just behind W.I.P. The mugshots of the Liverpool team displaying above the ceiling shouldn't discourage any Manchester United fans for a pint, (as long as they don't display reveal their fan identities!). To fully enjoy dining at The George & Dragon, recommended number of people should be a minimum of 3. Why? Well, because the Pork Knuckles (RM60), one of their specialties, require the stomach capacity of a hungry giant to fully savour and down the juicy pork bits to oblivion. Although the gravy served is bland, but the tasty meat is tender and the crisp pork skin is delightfully crunchy. Pork Knuckles is yum! The Bangers & Mash (RM18) is great stuff too. The chicken sausage is thick and long and the mashed potato still retains remnants of chunkiness in it, while the sweet sauce brilliantly compliments the mashed and sausage. For more pub grub, try The Ploughman (RM18), a D-I-Y sandwich that comes with either honey glazed ham, roast beef or Scotch eggs; tomatoes; cucumbers; slices of cheese; condiments such as gherkins and pickled onions; with marmalade jam and butter. Stuffing everything into a baguette seems to be a good way of getting the best out of the Ploughman's worth.
