Congratulations are in order for Ng Si Juan, who was just proclaimed our representative for the British Council’s International Young Designer Entrepreneur (IYDE) competition.
We were blank upon notice too, but after much research, we can now explain that a designer entrepreneur comprises those who work in any form of design media, and at the same time, develops and pioneers in bringing their respective artsy fartsy community to greater heights. In representing Malaysia, Juan promises to push our design boundaries to the next level. Sounds like the British Council picked just the right guy.
Along with nine other international finalists, Juan will travel to the UK this September to present his work, and understanding and vision for our design scene. And Juan seems to stand a pretty good chance – he juggles this load with the current planning development for the first KL International Design Week, in hopes of exposing and promoting our young designers on an international scale. With something like that on his resume, Juan’s a shoo in. We’d say good luck if he needed it.

Over the years, Juan had been very supportive in providing platform for creative individuals and groups like us, without discriminating color, race and religion. His appreciation towards creativity and young talent had been inspiring, to no surprise why this great person is also responsible of bringing Top Design Guru like Karim Rashid, Kusta Saksi, Joshua Davis to Malaysia through Massive Territory Design Conference & MIDI Conference few years back. Kudos!
