Crime may not pay, but you'll at least get a discount.
Posted on 03 July 2008 by adlinThis was actually published a couple of days ago, but it's still worth sharing. As in the past, here's the latest discount traffic offenders are getting to encourage you outlaws to pay. Of course, it makes perfect sense here to reward people who pay their summonses late by giving them a discount. This will no doubt teach people a valuable lesson in respecting the law.
You can find the original story here.
"UALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) -- Traffic summonses will be given a discount of between 30 and 50 per cent from July 1, Federal Traffic chief Datuk Hamza Taib said Monday.
He said a 30 per cent remission would be given to unpaid summonses issued previously while 50 per cent discount for summonses given out from July 1.
However, the discounts were only for compoundable offences.
Hamza said some traffic offences were non-appeallable to be given discounts such as summonses issued during Ops Sikap, beating traffic lights, causing road accidents and summonses with warrants of arrest.
"The discounts are not for traffic offenders to repeat their offences but to learn from their mistakes and be more responsible," he said.
A total of 148 cash and 46 credit card counters will be open at district police stations and state police contingents."
And since we're feeling like complete bad asses, we'll have you know we STOLE the photo above from here.
