Krishen Jit Astro Fund 08

It's that time of the year again, the Krishen Jit Astro Fund is calling for applicants!! This year the fund will give out grants ranging from RM5000 to RM20000 for:

• Training
• Workshops
• Attachments/residencies
• Experimental productions
• Research and documentation
• Writing
• Creating new work in music, dance, theatre, writing, film, visual/performance art
• Others

The recipients of the Krishen Jit ASTRO grants will be selected by a panel of judges made up of:

• Dato' Norliza Rofli - Director, Dept of Culture and Arts, Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, Malaysia
• Har Kok Kit - Head of Production Services, ASTRO
• Leow Puay Tin - Co-Head Dept of Media and Performance, Sunway University College.
• Ravi Navaratnam - Five Arts Centre
• Mac Chan - Five Arts Centre

FYI, past applicants have included Au Sow Yee (film installation/performance), Sharon Chin (research/ interactive installation/ exhibition new work), Dr Ray Langenbach (Malaysian Performance Video Archives Project), Amir Muhammad (Punggok Rindukan Bulan), Hardesh Singh and CH Loh (first Malaysian CD anthology), Lim Kok Yoong (LAMU, visual arts in commuter trains and train stations) and Shahili Abdan aka Nam Ron (research in Southern Thailand for theatre script)
