Full of Charm
Posted on 02 June 2008 by claudiaWe’ve always believed that local talent is steadily becoming global competitors, and this belief applies completely to the fashion industry. One brand that has been growing ever so discreetly is Sofira.
Founded in 2006 by Diana Faisal, the line was inspired by her travels. Diana, ever the keen observer, noticed emerging trends and styles happening around the world and wanted to introduce them to the Malaysian fashion scene. And guess what? The scene fell in love with her vision.
In a mere two years, Sofira has blossomed into an international label with retailers in Indonesia, Thailand, the UK, Maldives, Bahamas, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. Likewise, Sofira started from just putting out resort wear to a more extensive ready-to-wear line, which included tops, dresses and evening wear. Regardless of the variety, their team of designers – all young and homegrown – ensure that each piece follows Sofira’s philosophy of creating versatile and edgy pieces that make style statements effortlessly.
While last year’s collection saw intricate beading and prints, their 2008 collection offers a cleaner, sharper. The design team, headed by Judith Yeoh (Malaysia’s rep to the Lancome Colour Design Awards 2006 in Paris), favoured a more minimalist approach, using neutral tones with understated bursts of colours here and there to spice things up. With lightweight fabrics like silk georgette and crepe silk, the collection is fluid, ultra-feminine and undeniably chic to its core. Check out the 2008 collection at www.sofiraonline.com. Prices start from RM575. Sofira is available at 1, Lorong Damai 13 Kiri, Off Jalan Ampang. Tel: 03-2162 0470. It’s also available at Luxury Vintage at Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas (03-6203 2752).

That's not true! The quality was not that good that I bought on three days ago. The fabfics were not in good quality. Oh! My God! 'Judith Yeoh's design was suck!', my friend told me before! She was so unsatisfied with her evening gown that her bought in a month ago. That bad evening gown also can sell in your shop? What's the talent and skills that your winner's Judith has?.... What?....Just a COPYCAT from other brands! Crapped! So, we never step into SOFIRA again!
What a good comment! Very good!
I support your comment,Nil. I kena tipu from them b4. They r not PRO. as in text posted on above!
I can see the SOFIRA is not very well fashion brand in Malaysia. I think it will closed down soon..... Actually,I rather support other fashion brands like,Guess,Gucci,Celine,Versace,C.Dior,Prada,LV,Fendi,Juicy Couture,Forever 21 and etc. Gays, don't be cheated by them again.

Er. if one person wants to pretend to be different people online, at least be smarter not to post all the comments at the same time la right? it's KINDA obvious.
